SX: A STRONG PERFORMANCE BY CARL OSTERMANN ON SATURDAY!

Fox-Rookie Carl Ostermann’s superbly confident riding on Saturday won him 6th place in the SX3 Class with a convincing performance that underscores his technical prowess despite being by far the youngest at the starting line.

As a newcomer in the class, it was the best he could manage considering the physical deficit of the eleven-year-old, who had to compete with drivers who are up to three year older. Body size and strength play a particularly large role in the whoop section resulting in a loss of up to 2 seconds!

After two false starts on Friday and Sunday, Carl was not able to maintain his good results from the Time Practice so the final placement 9th and 10th was slightly disappointing.

Carl at the end of the three-day SX Marathon:

“Saturday was a good day and I almost managed to get into the top 5. My false starts were really frustrating. When you start at the back, it’s very difficult to work your way forward quickly. In future I’ll have to tackle this more aggressively. On a positive note, the spectators were as ever fantastic. Thanks Dortmund. In den next year we will have a different situation.”
