Not spectacular, but effective. Carl Ostermann improving day by day at the SX Marathon in Dortmund!
Although still struggling with a flu, Carl was able to qualify directly for the Main Events on all three days. With his quali lap times, the fifteen-year-old from Bonn was in the top ten of the strong international riders-field.
On Friday still too passive, on Saturday with bad luck, Carl was yet able to improve from race to race and even made it to the final on Sunday! There, the by far youngest rider of the SX2 class, finished 10th place!
Carl after the final on Sunday:
That was an exhausting weekend. It was clear to me, that I can’t keep up with the top and so I was all the more happy that I made it to the final on Sunday. In the LCQ on Saturday I was first out of the gate but then had a crash in the first corner what threw me out of the race. The weekend showed me again, that what I need most at the moment is racing experience, and Dortmund was the best place for that.
Coach Seb Tortelli:
Dortmund was a good step forward for Carl. He had some great practice and time qualifications showing his speed and his place in the international field of riders. He finished with a good note going to the final race day #3. Let´s see what is possible next weekend in Belfast.
