First step is done; Carl Ostermann is part of the SX2 Inter-Class!

As the first season-event, the Int. Dutch Supercross (Zuidbroek, NL) opens the European SX-Indoors. The event is a welcome opportunity for last tests and preparations for the upcoming championships and therefore on the schedule of top riders from Europe and the US.

Carl Ostermann, who was back on his bike just in time after an injury break of several weeks, used the opportunity in Zuidbroek to prepare for the first race of the ADAC SX Cup next weekend in Stuttgart. The fifteen-year-old from Bonn is by far the youngest rider who made the change from the SX3 (85ccm) to the SX2 Inter class (250ccm, 15-21 years).

On Saturday, things didn´t run smoothly for Carl at all. You could tell the lack of racing practice obviously through a still restrained attitude. In the end Carl missed the semifinals by one place. Sunday then already worked out much better! Holeshot and 5th in the first quali-race and thus in the semifinals. 4th there just wasn´t enough for the final, but an important step in the right direction.

Coach Seb Tortelli:

The Dutch InterSX marks the return to racing for Carl. Lots of international riders with a high level helps Carl to discover the Pro level and learn a lot. Great starts and some bumping and rubbing were on schedule. Step by step he is climbing the ladder.

Carl Ostermann:

I’d rather forget about Saturday quickly. I was just too distracted and nothing really fitted together. On Sunday things went much better as I started to focus on my own riding. In the end, I qualified for the semifinals; OK for the moment but of course not enough in the long run!
