In the end everything worked out well, strong performance and two clear race wins at the big final in the sold out Wembley Arena on Saturday and 240 points in the overall placings were enough. After six events and twelve victories in twelve races, the 13-year-old German won the UK Arenacross Series and is the new AXUK Champion of the Supermini Class.
Carl after the presentation ceremony:
Of course I’m really happy – I missed the two races in Newcastle (Participation at the ADAC SX Cup in Dortmund), which meant the tournament was a tight thing right from the start. Mistakes were out of question and I needed to win every race in order to secure the title. I didn’t constantly check the table, but just took it one race at a time instead. That definitely helped me cope better with the pressure. And the fact that my friend Cedric (Soubeyras) took the title in the Pro class was just icing on the cake!
The final of the UK Arenacross in Wembley went according to plan for Carl. Great starts and good rhythm got him the 2 motos win. It was a great way to clinch the championship and to finish the SX season on a high note. Time to take some rest and enjoy the off season.
